That everything was in nearby reach and staff were helpful.
Breakfast - excellent service:staff very friendly and helpful.
Very corporate feel, leisure pool closed at 5pm on the Saturday when we arrived so didn't get to use facilities.
The hotel was inviting, had a sense of quality and was clean and well maintained. The staff I met were all smiling and friendly and, in particular, the service from the staff at breakfast was excellent. Although the restaurant was fairly busy the quality of service was great as was the choice and quality of food on offer. I would definately recommend Eastwood Hall and would stay again.
The conduct of staff throughout the hotel - they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The view from our bedroom on to the grounds was lovely - trees, lawns, a lake and wildlife - well rabbits and squirrels! The food was excellent and the range of choice imaginative and wide ranging. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Bedrooms not well sign posted from car park
Good breakfast, room fine if a bit functional in a conference sort of way, staff friendly, car parking ample and easily found. Looks to be well equipped but that was not imprtant for this stay.
Restaurant closed probably due to weddings taking place but that didn't help and we were not forewarned. However, reception recommended the Brindley Arms just up the road that was very welcoming and great value. Eastwood Hall is a Conference venue so forget a romantic weekend, it is good value compared to Travel Lodge, Premier Dustbins etc, its just a bit soul-less.
The leisure facilities are very good, there is plenty of room to spread out & sit in peace & quiet, being at the far end of the hotel was very quiet, specially if there was a wedding on (of which there wasn't) the staff were all very friendly and everyone of them spoke to you.
The bar did not open till 4 o'clock in the afternoon which was a disappointment, the toilet in the room did not flush properly otherwise, very pleased with the hotel.
The staff were always very helpfull and friendly
Helpful friendly staff, excellent rates. Buffet style full english/continental breakfast was amazing - eat as much as you like. All sports club facilities included! pool, gym, snooker room etc - amazing value for £59 for two. Evening meal was on the expensive side but was lovely and well presented. Waiter service was properly done like in top notch places. Set in grounds but did not have time to explore. The bedrooms are in a new modern block atached to the original building. Large Tarmac covered walled garden (what a shame) for parking. Best Hotel stay for a long time thankyou.
Going through major refurb but this was done with little disruption to guests. Looks as if weekdays could be busy because it has very large conference facilities. This could impact on the quality of the stay. We were here at the weekend, off peak season, so it was very quiet for us..
It is a beautiful setting with wonderful grounds. Quite a surprise given its location. The staff make the hotel what it is though. nothing was too much trouble and all requests were met with no fuss or hassle. I would definitely stay again.
The decor is a bit 'big hotel chain' style and I think it is obvious that it is used for conferences as there were lots of empty areas when it is not being used in that way.
The relaxed atmosphere and friendlyness of the staff
Convenience for conference venue
Cracked wash handbasin in room. Poor room layout with inadequate lighting.
Excellent value for money, quiet and pleasant grounds.
Receptionist who welcomed us on arrival could do with sharpening up her people skills - she was less than hospitable. All the other dining and reception staff were most civil and helpful.
exellant breakfast lovely views good parking
The surroundings were wonderful & peaceful & the room pleasant with every thing needed.
The breakfast was lovely but there were three wedding parties that morning & the staff were stretched to the limits which meant juice and food ran out and were not replaced quickly enough. Maybe more staff needed in these situations?
